Charleston County School District awards $500 bonuses to employees

Post and Courier lays off 23 from across newspaper staff

According to an announcement on The Post and Courier's Web site, the company has cut "23 positions throughout the building, including seven that were unfilled."

Medical supply maker cuts 90 local jobs
Hill-Rom, which makes hospital beds and other medical supplies, is cutting some 90 jobs at its North Charleston plant that employees 350 people.
