As we reported last April, Charleston is also getting their own embarrassing 'reality' show. While the folks featured in Bravo's 'Southern Charm' have (or act like they have) money and class, the preview shows that, like with all the Real Housewives shows, that beign trashy on national TV knows no socioeconomic bounds.
"Have you ever wanted to explore the lives of the aristocratic families of the South? Our new series, Southern Charm takes viewers inside the exclusive world of six Charleston, South Carolina singles: Craig Conover, Cameran Eubanks, Jenna King, Thomas Ravenel, Shepard "Shep" Rose, and Whitney Sudler Smith. It's not all garden parties and exclusive social events: the series shows many of the bachelors as they struggle with "Peter Pan Syndrome" and the women who challenge them to grow up. Viewers will watch the cast—some of whom are descendants of Senators and others who come from "new money"—as they try to launch political careers, build businesses, break hearts and find true love."
