A man said a shark bit his hand when he was swimming at Isle of Palms' beach on Thursday around 11 a.m.
The 37-year-old man said he had been swimming in the surf when the 4.5-5-foot shark nipped his hand. He needed immediate medical attention, but it seemed unlikely he would have any long-term issues.
The Post and Courier reminds us that:
Two people suffered suspected shark bites on Isle of Palms on the same afternoon last August.
A 9-year-old boy was bitten on the leg in a public swimming area in the county's public park, and a 30-year-old man received a 3-inch gash on his ankle while bodysurfing about four blocks away.
